I've been to Tomi Kro several times, and I am somewhat shocked by the negative reviews. I've always found the service to be pleasant and professional, never condescending. Maybe there's a bad waiter I haven't hit yet! The food is amazing, especially the risotto and the steak with Stilton (I think) cheese on it. I've recommended this restaurant to many people, and have had great feedback from others. The only gripe - not open on Sundays. Too bad.

My daughter (14), my wife and I went last Wednesday for my birthday. We found the food very good, but felt extremely rushed by the waiter. We were in and out in almost a half hour. The waiter was also very condescending. As typical Canadians, we didn't say anything (and even left a tip), but in talking about it later, we decided that the service was bad enough that we'll never go back, (even though we live in the neighbourhood and the food was better than the norm). We go out a lot, and have lived and dined all over the world, so we're not restaurant novices.

They have really great food. You can tell it has quality and lots of flavor. Their desserts however are even better. All the desserts are said to be made in house which is always nice. Everyone should dine here at least once.

Fantastic food

Have eaten four times at this restaurant, and the food is outstanding and the service helpful and knowledgable. Maki balls are to die for, and the rest of the menu eclectic and entertaining. Watch out for the seat under the Sumo wrestler, can be disconcerting......but the decor is generally retro funky.

I went to Tomi-Kro last night after friends raved about the food. It seems like I must have been in a different restaurant since the service was atrocious. Our waiter had a very snobbish attitude and certainly was not warm and friendly as others have said. The food was also very mediocre and some dishes, such as the lobster tempura maki balls were not enjoyed by anyone at our table.

I have had dinner twice here, and both times have found the food and service to be excellent. Small warning, look out for the large cocktails !
